Sasquatch Line-up...

Anyone agree with me here??? The line up this year, overall, sucks! There is a few bands here and there that I would like to check out- but is it really worth it to go all the way to the Gorge? Don't get me wrong, last year it was one of the best festivals I have been to! Thanks to Champagne Champagne for getting me the all access back stage(which is the only way I would ever go! free food, beer, bands kickin it?! Who wants to be with all the dirty hipsters?) I will wait to party in my own hood- Capitol Hill Block Party- hopefully there lineup will be better!

See! Even the Sasquatch this year looks sad!

Slats Benefit!

Everyone who knew Slats should be here! And talk about an awesome lineup!

Pierced Arrows on April Fools

Fred and Toody Cole are the most powerful couple in Rock and Roll and are most famous is there band, Dead Moon. Pressing there own records and climbing there way into rock and roll history, with live shows that mesmerized the masses! I recall the first time I ever saw Dead Moon, it was one of there last shows they ever played in Seattle. The energy shot on to the crowd makes you feel like your experiencing a once in a lifetime rock and roll high.

There new band has drummer Kelly from Defiance, still keeping the classic sound, they rock out and finally after years of self- releasing albums have been signed to Vice Records- to learn more click here!

So, April 1st at the Funhouse- be there! Pierced Arrows always sells out so get there early!

The second flier I saw confused me at first- Beyonce with some gators looking fierce! later realizing its a show at the Croc-clever! Sap'n and The Lights! March 18th.Couldn't fine the flier online(well I did find one, its sucked)- so again proof that Print works!!!

Soft Core

So at work we decided we need to see some sexy guys, well one video came to mind- boys be jealous- girls pick your jaw off the ground... D'Angelo
I swear you almost see his member. God, I gotta watch that video again

Traveling

Since now I have a new found freedom, (single, but broke!) I want to travel!

SXSW would have been pretty perfect, hot weather, good music, new interesting people! Too bad I will be stuck here in Seattle. Although after reading the list of bands to play, there really isn't that many to die for- mine would be Michael Monroe, then Motorhead.
Here is a pic of Michael Monroe, lead singer of Hanoi Rocks. Isn't he pretty!?

So as far as vacation ideas, I would like to go back to NYC- loved it there and might want to move there someday(Seattle seems to small for me!) but I really want to go somewhere sunny- beaches, booze, babes, maybe rent a cabana!

R.I.P. Slats

I just wanted to take a moment to commemorate a true Capitol Hill legend. Slats had been sick for sometime, trying to get well enough to come back out to some shows... he never made it. Lots of friends would go out to visit him while at the hospital and recovering at his mom's house. The visits of his friends lifted his spirits, most people shocked he could get skinner! His girlfriend, Coco, by his side to whole time. I really give her mad props for sticking by his side no matter what! Slats is truly in a better place now, and will remain a Seattle Music legend forever.
Memorial for Slats will be held this thursday from 5-7pm at Lindas
After Lindas-
THE FUNHOUSE this Thursday, March 18, there will be a show to CELEBRATE Slats life.

LUSTKILLERS (from CHICAGO, members of BLACK HALOS)
THE GREATEST HITS
BROKEN NOBLES
CREEM CITY

be there!

Have you seen LISA DANK!?

This girl is one of the most hard working women I have met in a while. the very first time I saw her live set, was at the annual Dead Baby Bike Party in Georgetown where she rocked it with a giant home made shlong- if you can wear a big ass fake dick and disgust half the people and mesmerize the rest- ya got it. Since then she has mastered her live show, which you should come and form your own opinion of the lovely, controversial LISA DANK.
I met up with her to talk about her up and coming show- which is actually going to be different then any other performance to date!

How did the character Lisa Dank Come about?
I was hella stoned on my way to a Mad Rad show in Ballard and was freestylin with my bandmate at the time. Lisa Frank, a childhood icon in "Rainbow Magic" came into the flow. I stopped that instant and said "Fuck a Lisa Frank, Imma Lisa Dank." I went and danced, my leotard broke open, Kristen Blush posted a picture of me giggin, and Lisa Dank was born.
What is your inspiration for costumes?
Candy, Princess, White Widow, Robots, Sexy Robots, Dragons, Lions, LARPers, Ms. PacMan, Those birds that take their head off in Labyrinth, Jane Fonda, Jazzercise, Phalluses
Strangest thing that's ever happened at a show?
I was still in my rock band and we were having an illegal house party. We couldn't get our equipment out of the practice space so I thought it would be a good idea to steal my housemates car to get the drum kit. Unfortunately, it involved driving it over a mud embankment because it was blocked in. The car bottomed out and was left hanging on a 4 foot cliff all night. Needless to say, our drummer's mom came through in the clutch and we got the kit to the house.
The party was crackin. Smoke was wafting through the livingroom and kitchen. The opening act played, but went on too long and the cops came. They told everyone to leave and took all my information, telling me if they come back I am going to jail. Instead of kicking people out and calling the show off, I told everyone to hide in the basement.
Because the cops came, our drummer freaked out and bailed, but I had a packed house ready to see me rock. I opted to use the drummer from the first act- an epic jam session would prevail. So, illuminated by a single black light I freestyled the most punk rock set I've ever done. Rolling on the floor, screaming my heart out, I finished the set. Not one minute later my friends runs downstairs to tell me,
"The cops are back, and they are asking for you by name"
That was the craziest show ever.

How is Sunday's show at Nectar going to be different then others in the past?

It will be the first installment of my ongoing Hip-Opera saga, similar to R. Kelly's "Trapped in The Closet"

"Locked in the Lazer Dome"- Lisa Dank, banished to her confines, the Lazer Dome, surrounded by the Sea of Sexual Chocolate, beyond the Dense Thicket of Love, in the Land of Candy Sparkle, she awaits Prince Rapper to pull on her ponytail, gaining access to the Chastity Chasm, awakening her heart and soul. Collaborating night and day, they make sweet music and live happily ever after.
You get the idea.

Whats in the future for Lisa Dank?
7" vinyl, a workout DVD, a Twister Pad MPC, Bake Sales, Pucci Bikinis, more veganism, a new hat from Goorin Brothers, and an AroMed vaporizer from Piece of Mind.

Oh, and another tour, and I will probably flee the country at the end of the year.

Leslie and the Ly's

This girl is pretty impressive- all those gems, gold, bedazzled on a pudgy nerdy body? Who could ask for anything more?

How COOL are You?

"This is the sound of throwing pennies on the ground"

Tonight at Showbox Sodo The Cool Kids
Should be fun- I feel that they really havent evolved musically over the years... but if you wanna go see some Hipster Rap- this is your show!!!
Me? I would go just to see Mikey! I met him at Sasquatch last year- he was bland, like an overworked artist touring alot for ok pay. Bottom line though- easy on the eyes!

The After Party tonight is at the CAN CAN in Pike Place. They will be there hangin out!
